The only thing you will need is a flexible pot, some seeds from the zucchini plant … and a lot of desire to work on your cultivation! Follow this quick and easy step-by-step guide to growing zucchini in a pot :

  1. Fill a pot with soil and fertilizer (vermicompost works very well) and plant a maximum of two seeds in it to a depth of 2 to 3 centimeters.
  2. Place it in a well-lit place where it receives plenty of sunlight, as it is essential for the proper development of the plant.
  3. Water daily, always keeping the substrate moist until you notice that the first leaves begin to grow, which is usually five to ten days after planting. From then on, keep watering to keep the soil moist.
  4. At this time you should transplant into a larger pot of about 40 cm in diameter to allow the zucchini to develop in a sufficient space (this is usually about 30 days after planting). Remember that you must re-fertilize the soil and fill the bottom of the pot or planter with clay balls.
  5. Harvesting usually takes place about 90 days after planting, when the fruits of the plant are not yet fully ripe.

Also bear in mind that in addition to sun exposure, the zucchini needs to develop at a temperature between 20ºC and 30ºC depending on the moment of growth in which it is.
