Andean Region: characteristics, flora and fauna

The Andean Region expands throughout Colombia, and three mountain ranges pass through it that belong to a division of the Andes mountain range . These are the Cordillera Occidental, Cordillera Central, and Cordillera Oriental. The variability in this region is due to changes in altitude, this makes it an area with an ecological diversity that deserves to be known. If you want to go deeper and learn more about this region of America, then continue reading this interesting AgroCorrn article in which we talk about the Andean region, its characteristics, flora and fauna and more representative ones.

  • The climate of this territory is very changeable, depending on the altitude, latitude, vegetation and orography, that is why three types of climates can be found: tropical, subtropical and temperate.
  • In the Andean region there are several indigenous settlements, these still maintain their culture and customs that are characterized by taking care of nature.
  • Finally, say that it has a unique fauna and flora, and these vary depending on the altitude. More information about them will be shown below.

Andean Region: flora
